Meet “Buddy,” the therapy bunny! Buddy is an Angora rabbit who has made Signature of Putnam County his new home! The residents recently decided they would like to have a facility pet, and suggested a rabbit might be nice.
Their wish was granted this week when the Quality of Life Department, with help from one of the Speech Therapists, made preparations for the rabbit to become one of the family.
Buddy has his own cozy home in the Activity room, and even has a little bunny harness and leash for when he goes visiting the residents in their rooms. In his short time at the facility, he has already made a huge difference in the amount of smiles and laughter, and is providing comfort and companionship to the sick.
Signature HealthCARE of Putnam would like to extend a very special thank you to Dr. Tamorah Cottrell of Copeland Veterinary Hospital for donating the initial services required for Buddy’s new job as therapy bunny at the facility.
